As we prepare for our two big YOTA hosted swim meets, please take a moment to figure out how you can help make these events run as smooth and efficient as possible. Here are a few important things to think about as these meets approach:
1. Volunteer Jobs - We need all sorts of help to make these meets go off without a hitch. We have a volunteer director for each of our two meets who sets up our timers, concessions, hospitality, and other important meet jobs. You can contact Robin Hester for our YOTA 8 & Under Turkey Classic robinhester@nc.rr.com and you can contact Jane Houchin for the 17th Annual TYR Capital Classic wolfpackjane@yahoo.com. We need your help!!
2. Donation - Another easy way for you to help with these meets is to make a donation. We are asking for a $20 donation from each family that will go towards both the Turkey Classic and the Capital Classic. Additionally, as we get closer to the two meets, we will ask for food/drink donations as well. You can turn these donations in to your coach or site lockbox at your respective YMCA.
3. Individual Event Sponsorships - For a mere $5 you can sponsor an individual event at either of the upcoming meets. You can write a personal note that goes in the heat sheet by that certain events information. It would mean a lot for an athlete to see a good luck note from Mom and Dad before they swim an event at these next two meets. For more information, see the attached document.
4. Heat Sheet Advertisements - Heat sheets are a great, easy, and affordable way to spread the word for your business, corporation, or another opportunity to wish athletes luck in the swim meet. We have drastically reduced prices for this amazing opportunity and hope that you will contact any local businesses in hopes that they will advertise in our heat sheets. For more information, see the attached document.
Thanks to all of those parents who have already been busy with the set-up of these meets. I strongly encourage everyone to get involved and help make a difference by volunteering and helping to make these competitions the best meets that they can possibly be. GO YOTA!
