Hundreds of families, foundations and companies have made gifts and pledges to make these dreams come true. Here are two examples of families who are dedicated to this project:
The Stephenson family made a significant contribution to the Southwest Wake YMCA. This generous gift will come through their family foundation to support the construction of the permanent Southwest Wake facility. The Stephensons are long-time supporters of our WeBuildPeople campaign and all the efforts of our YMCA. The Stephenson family grew up in Southwest Wake County. Their commitment continues to inspire other families in the community.
Over the years, Al Edwards has served as the unofficial chaplain of the Central YMCA on Hillsborough Street. Al has ministered to so many in the Y hallways and parking lots, helping folks through difficult times in their lives.
As we rebuild the Central Y, dozens of families have pledged more than $150,000 to name the Chapel in the new facility in his honor-The Al Edwards Chapel.
